The focus is on goods such as coal, wood, paper, agricultural products, but also project cargo, steel and metals, building materials and minerals, as well as material flows for disposal and recycling. For the pre- and onward carriage to the terminals, Rhenus has concepts for transport by truck and rail as well as by coaster and inland waterway vessels.
As Lower Austria’s largest Danube transhipment hub, goods with a total volume of 625,000 tonnes were loaded and unloaded at the Port of Krems in the first half of 2021 (excl. ballast transports). This is a substantial increase of ten percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
